The Choral Union is a mixed voice (SATB) ensemble of 60-75 singers affiliated with the Department of Performing Arts at SUNY Cortland. Its purpose is to provide an opportunity for Cortland students, faculty and staff to join adult volunteer singers of central New York in performing the masterworks of the choral tradition, under the direction of a trained, experienced professional conductor. While there is no audition required for membership, experience in and commitment to artistic choral singing is expected. All interested singers are welcome.
Rehearsals are Monday nights from 7 to 9 p.m. at Grace Holy Spirit Church on Court St. in Cortland. Music is provided, and there is no audition nor membership fee required. Anyone wishing further information should contact Wilson at 607-753-4615.
It is expected that all singers will bring a pencil with eraser to each rehearsal, and will mark scores lightly when directed by the conductor. No score should be marked in ink!
Rehearsal tapes/CDs that highlight individual voice parts will be available.
